Berbicara tentang Biji kopi yang dihasilkan Indonesia khususnya Kabupaten Garut mempunyai citra rasa yang menarik. Buktinya Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Garut dibawah bidang perkebunan berhasil meng ekspor 15 ton perdana Biji Kopi jenis arabika dibawah naungan kelompok tani KASUGA ( Kopi Asli Urang Garut ) Desa Ciela Kecamatan Bayongbong, Senin (09/06/2018)

Dalam sambutannya Perwakilan kelompok tani KASUGA Christian mengatakan Dinas Pertanian dibawah bidang Perkebunan telah banyak memberikan kontribusi kepada para petani kopi, seperti pemberian benih kopi secara cuma - cuma. Christian juga berharap dengan adanya exspor perdana ini perekonomian Garut semakin maju.

Direktorat Jenderal (Dirjen) Perkebunan Direktur Pengolahan Hasil Pertanian Kementrian Republik Indonesia Dedi Junaedi menuturkan selain ekspor ke Taiwan akan ada permintaan kopi Garut lagi dari Ukraina. Smenjak tahun lalu kopi Garut sudah menjadi perhatian dari Menteri Pertanian dan menjadikan Kabupaten Garut sebagai pusat pengembangan Kopi.

Sebagai penerima ekspor, Mr Chachilin mengucapkan banyak terima kasih kepada Wakil Bupati Garut dr Helmi Budiman beserta kelompok tani KASUGA sehingga ekspor kopi Garut dapat terwujud. "Orang Taiwan lebih banyak mengetahu kopi Sumatera yang berasal dari Mandeling tapi menurut saya pribadi kopi Garut tidak kalah baik, tidak kalah enak dibanding kopi dari Sumatera, rasa kopi garut lebih wangi dan lebih memlilki rasa yang seimbang", tuturnya. "Saya harap orang di Taiwan menyukai kopi garut", pungkasnya.

Sementara itu wakil bupati garut dr Helmi Budiman mengatakan hari ini adalah hari yang selama ini ditunggu - tunggu. "Alhamdulilah kita akhirnya bisa mengekspor kopi keluar negeri, tentu ini adalah sebuah prestasi, awal kebangkitan dari petani Kabupaten Garut", papar Helmi. (diskominfo)
